Shot Clock Reset to 14 After Offensive Rebound
The Rule Change
After an offensive rebound, the shot clock now resets to 14 seconds instead of the full 24. This was adopted from FIBA rules to increase pace and reduce teams running down the clock after grabbing offensive boards.
Statistical Impact
Modestly increased pace. Reduced the advantage of elite offensive rebounding teams who could burn significant clock. Contributed to the broader trend of faster, more perimeter-oriented basketball.
